The Clearing Where Eagles Fly is a christian retreat center, devoted to prayer, seeking spiritual awakening, specially among Native American people and throughout Central virginia.

The Clearing is a christian quiet retreat for individuals and christian groups, hosted by Doug and Carla McMurry. Let us help you get into the clear with God, and soar like an eagle.

Here’s how The Clearing can help you “get into the clear” with God:

  • We have created an apartment available for short periods for a donation. No TV or phone, only peace and quiet.
  • We are developing a network of trails and prayer stations on 30 acres.
  • We are redesigning our house to create a temporary area for small group retreats, mentoring and prayer meetings.
  • We offer prayer ministry as desired. Daily morning prayer and worship with the McMurrys is open to guests.

We have a special heart to pray with and for Native tribes.
